December 13th, 2007
ZERO1-MAX announced today more additions to the January 1st "Genesis 2008" show at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall. First will be seen the return of the "WILD CHILD" tag team of Takao Omori and New Japan Pro Wrestling's Manabu Nakanishi. Together the team have a previous track record of having held the IWGP Tag Team titles as well as the NWA Intercontinental Tag Team titles. Together they also perfected the "Washington Treaty" finisher combining the Axe Bomber with Nakanishi's "McEnroe" move. Their scheduled opponent will be Yoshihito Sasaki and Ryouji Sai.
Moreover, ZERO1-MAX also announced a change to its Christmas Eve show on 12/24 also a Korakuen Hall. Designated as a "Mr. Danger admission match," the former BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight will battle young Shota Takanishi as another qualification for joining ZERO1-MAX. As we've been reporting, Matsunaga has continued to show interest in officially joining ZERO1-MAX's roster.
Sayonara AWA! President Nakamura Comments!
December 12th, 2007
As many wrestling fans have been made aware, ZERO1-MAX and the AWA have severed ties. This situation has been compounded by various reports on the internet and one very disingenuous press release put out by the AWA. While ZERO1-MAX was ready to make the split amicable, AWA ownership felt it was necessary to release blatant falsehoods in a sad attempt to spin the situation and to bash Pro Wrestling ZERO1-MAX.
It is under these circumstances that Pro-Wrestling ZERO1-MAX President Yoshiyuki Nakamura felt compelled to release the following statement:
"Why did ZERO1-MAX leave the AWA? We believe that Gagne (if that's his real name) cannot build the AWA any bigger than it currently is. I had a dream of a 'reborn AWA.' Yet all the wrestlers were always laughing at Dale, the fans were always laughing at him. CEO? President? Dale is not a "Gagne!"
"I love the AWA history, so I stayed with the AWA for almost three full years. ZERO1-MAX did more for the AWA then they ever did for us. Of course I will always respect all former AWA champions, and I hope the AWA gets its act together.
I wish them luck in the future."

Mr. Danger Added to Great ShinKiBash 2nd Day!
December 11th, 2007
As reported on this site last month, "Mr. Danger" Mitsuhiro Matsunaga has continued his appeal to join Pro Wrestling ZERO1-MAX. He appeared at the 11/13 "Believe Your Way" show at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall show and directly appealed to Shinjiro Otani for admission into the company. He explained his reasoning for doing so, saying he wants to "seriously join an organization" where he can face "major league wrestlers." ZERO1-MAX President Yoshiyuki Nakamura decided that he would let Otani make all calls regarding the decision on whether to allow Matsunaga into the company once more.
Therefore Otani decided to allow Matsunaga to come practice with the young boys before the 12/2 show in Koshigaya at the Katsura Studio. After performing adequately, Otani invited "Mr. Danger" to yesterday's show at Shin-kiba for another practice session. Again, Matsunaga was well behaved and practiced hard. Otani then made the decision to allow Matsunaga to take part in Day 2 of "Wrestle Islands - Great ShinkiBash." He will be in a 6-man match teamed with Otani and Yoshihito Sasaki.
Otani remains very skeptical about the situation, knowing the behavior Matsunaga has displayed previously in ZERO1-MAX. It was Yoshihito Sasaki who helped drive him away the first time during the famous STOP THE MATSUNAGA situation a few years ago, and Otani himself who drove him off when Kazunari Murakami tried to tap into "Mr. Danger's" evil power...
Aloha! It's "Wrestle Islands!"

ZERO1-MAX and Hawaii Championship Wrestling (HCW) are teaming up to bring six special shows to pro wrestling fans in Japan and Hawaii. The first four shows will take place in the Land of the Rising Sun, with the remaining two running in the beautiful US island of Hawaii. The "Wrestle Island" tour begins on December 11th in Tokyo's Shin-kiba 1st Ring with several HCW wrestlers making the trip for the "Great ShinkiBash."
SANDY BEACH, a devoted and lifelong surfer and skate boarder in Hawaii's famed North Shore will be making the trip across the Pacific. SANDY is currently the HCW Kamehameha Heritage World Champion, the top title in HCW.
SANDY contacted ZERO1-MAX about him bringing his title belt to japan for a title defense.
Also coming will be legendary Hawaiian fisherman KATSUO. KATSUO has his sights set on Takao Omori, ZERO1-MAX's own resident fisherman. KATSUO has caught such large fish that he calls himself a "Monster Hunter," netting 3 meter long Swordfish regularly. He will face Omori in a "Best Fisherman/Pro Wrestler in the World Match" where the loser will have to give their tackle box and fishing poles to the winner. This match is the main event of the 11/11 show.
Katsuo doesn't know there is no sea in Nagano Prefecture! But he and Omori will team together on 12/12 in Shin-Kiba for a "Fisherman Group vs. Tengu Group" pitting them against the recently returned Tengu Kaiser and the long missing Crow Kaiser.
A former Kamehameha World Heavyweight Champion will also be appearing. KAIMANA is not new to Japanese pro wrestling as he previously faced former Triple Crown champion Kensuke Sasaki in the squared circle. The "Polynesian Dancer" KAIMANA is not only a pro wrestler but trains in MMA in Hawaii. He will fight for the NWA United National Heavyweight title versus current champion Yoshihito Sasaki on 12/13 in Nagoya at the "Nagoya and Hawaii Pro Wrestling Friendship" show by HCW and ZERO1-MAX.
And last but not least, women pro wrestler and "Hula Fighter" Tracy Taylor will also be appearing for the "Wrestle Islands" tour. Tracy, a former WWE Diva, has already previously traveled to ZERO1-MAX to take part in the ZERO-SUN "Chick & Dog" shows that took part in early October. There on the first show she lost the EWA Women's World Championship to idol wrestler Fuka.
Tracy will indeed take part in a "Losers must hula dance wearing a coconut bra" match on 11/11 teaming with this mysterious Hula Kong versus Hikaru and Saki Maemura. The following day, she will again with Hula Kong in a 3-way tag versus the team of Hikaru & Saki Maemura and the team of Nanae Takahashi & Natsuki☆Taiyo in a yet undecided "Loser's must..." stipulation.
Additionally, all the wrestlers did video promos after arriving at the ZERO1-MAX offices today.

End of the road for C.W. Anderson!
December 6th, 2007
Today C.W. Anderson announced his retirement from pro wrestling, making the announcement on his MySpace blog at http://www.myspace.com/cwanderson.
In a very emotional posting, C-Dub wrote about his decision and his reasons for doing so.
Anderson made 36 tours of ZERO-ONE and ZERO1-MAX, starting in April of 2002 where he teamed in a tag team match along with fellow Extreme Horseman Steve Corino. The two former ECW wrestlers would go on to tour and team together many times in Pro Wrestling ZERO-ONE/ZERO1-MAX, holding the ZERO1-MAX Intercontinental Tag Team title and as a singles wrestler the United National Heavyweight title.
While every one should go and read his own written words on the blog, CW did briefly mention ZERO1-MAX:
Thank you..!"
Anderson's longtime friend and tag team partner, Steve Corino, also posted some thoughts on his MySpace blog regarding his friend's retirement that is also worth a look. In a blog titled "A Legend Doesn't Get His Just Due and more" can be found Corino's Myspace page located at http://www.myspace.com/stevecorino, he comments on CW Anderson's retirement.
After becoming a regular member of the ZERO-ONE roster back in 2002, CW Anderson stayed with the company until March 2005 when he soon joined the WWE owned ECW. After his time in WWE ended in the begining of 2007, Anderson returned to ZERO1-MAX for the "Everlasting" tour in May of the same year.

Ryouji Accepts "Santa" Takayama's Challenge!
December 6th, 2007
ZERO1-MAX wrestler Ryouji Sai responded to Yoshihiro Takayama's comments at the final show of the ZERO1-MAX tour "Breakthrough" in Sendai, Japan on 11/30. Following the match Takyama commented to the media about the upcoming December 24th ZERO1-MAX show "Year End*Crossing Over" at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall.
He stated that he wanted to send a "present" to ZERO1-MAX for Christmas. A present from "Mr. Takayama Santa Claus." The immediate assumption was that it would be Takayama's often tag partner Pancrase Mission figther, Minoru Suzuki.
Turns out this will be the case, as Minoru Suzuki will be coming to ZERO1-MAX on 12/24 for the FIRST ON STAGE X'Mas Special "Year End*Crossing Over" and Ryouji will meet him in the semi-main event.
